Materials

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 sirloin steaks 1 inch thick (1 1/2 lbs total)
  • olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Put the spices in a small basin and mix.
  • Coat the meat with spices on both sides and spritz with olive oil.
  • Heat up the air fryer so that the basket is heated. Air fried a 1-inch steak at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, flipping it midway through. For medium-rare, cook for 12 minutes, rotating it halfway through. Refer to the temperature table below; the time may change somewhat depending on the kind of air fryer and the thickness of the steaks.
  • Add a last dash of black pepper and salt.
  • Five minutes before slicing, let it rest while covered with foil.

Notes

How long do steaks take in the air fryer?
  • Medium Steak: Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees. Cook 1-inch-thick steaks to medium-rare by cooking them for 12 minutes, then flipping them after 6 minutes.
  • Medium-Rare Steaks: Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees. Cook 1-inch-thick steaks for 10 minutes, flipping them after five.
  • Adapt Duration based on Thickness: The cooking time should be adjusted for steaks that are thinner or thicker.
Since the temperature of the meat may rise while it rests, use a meat probe to test your steaks and remove them five degrees before you would want them done.
  • Rare: 125°F
  • Medium-Rare: 135°F
