Materials

  • 1 lb smoked sausage sliced
  • 4 cups potatoes diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375° Fahrenheit (190° Celsius).
  • In a large pan over medium heat, brown the sausage and sauté the onion until transparent.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage and onion with the diced potatoes, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, milk, sour cream, melted butter, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake for 60 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and the topping is golden and bubbling.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
