Materials

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil for frying
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, dip into beaten eggs, then coat with a mixture of breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Place the fried chicken in the prepared baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
