Materials

  • - 1 lb 450g flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
  • - 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • - 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • - 1 onion sliced
  • - 2 cloves garlic minced
  • - 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • - 1/4 cup beef broth
  • - 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • - 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon sugar
  • - Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the flank steak with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and sear until browned, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir in the green and red bell peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until just tender.
  • Return the beef to the skillet. Add beef broth, oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and sugar. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened and the beef is cooked through, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
