Materials

  • - 8 slices of thick-cut bacon
  • - 4 large lettuce leaves preferably romaine or butter lettuce
  • - 2 ripe tomatoes sliced
  • - 8 slices of sourdough bread
  • - 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • - 1 clove garlic minced
  • - Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the bacon in a large pan over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels and let drain.
  • In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to make aioli.
  • Toast the sourdough pieces till golden brown.
  • To construct the sandwiches, put a liberal quantity of garlic aioli over one side of each bread piece.
  • Layer the lettuce leaves on four slices of bread, then the tomato slices and the bacon. Top with the remaining bread slices, aioli side down.
  • Divide each sandwich in half and serve immediately.
