Materials

**For the Meatloaf:**

  • - 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • - 1 onion finely chopped
  • - 2 cloves garlic minced
  • - 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • - 1/2 cup milk
  • - 2 large eggs
  • - 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • - 1/2 cup ketchup for topping

**For the Macaroni & Cheese:**

  • - 8 ounces macaroni
  • - 2 tablespoons butter
  • - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • - 2 cups milk
  • - 8 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

**For the Meatloaf:**

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme until well combined.
  • Press the mixture into a loaf pan. Spread the additional ketchup over the top.
  • Bake for 1 hour, or until cooked through. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

**For the Macaroni & Cheese:**

  • Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux, cooking for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Combine cheese sauce with macaroni, then transfer to a baking dish.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
