Yield: 4
- - 4 chicken breasts boneless and skinless
- - 1 cup buttermilk
- - 2 cups all-purpose flour
- - 1 tablespoon paprika
- - 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- - 1 teaspoon onion powder
- - Salt and pepper to taste
- - 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
For the Honey Glaze:
- - 1/2 cup honey
- - 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- - 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- - Salt to taste
In a large bowl, marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the fridge.
In another bowl, mix together flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until well coated.
Fry the chicken in batches for about 8-10 minutes each or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
For the glaze, combine honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until well blended and heated through.
Brush the fried chicken with the honey glaze and serve immediately.
