Materials

  • - 2 ribeye steaks
  • - 12 large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • - 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
  • - 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 2 cups yellow rice
  • - 4 cups water
  • - 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 1 green bell pepper diced
  • - 1 onion diced
  • - 2 cloves garlic minced

Instructions

  • Season the steaks and shrimp with the jerk seasoning.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the steaks and cook to your desired doneness, then set aside and keep warm.
  • In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook until they are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the yellow rice, turmeric, and salt. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • In another skillet, sauté the green bell pepper, onion, and garlic until soft and translucent.
  • Once the rice is done, fluff with a fork and mix in the sautéed vegetables.
  • Slice the steak against the grain. Serve the steak slices and shrimp over the yellow rice.
