Materials

  • - 1 Ribeye steak approximately 1.5 inches thick
  • - Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • - 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • - 3 cloves garlic minced
  • - 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary chopped
  • - 1 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped

Instructions

  • Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
  • Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
