Materials

  • - 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 1 pound ground beef
  • - 1 onion finely chopped
  • - 1 green bell pepper finely chopped
  • - 2 cloves garlic minced
  • - 1 cup beef broth
  • - 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • - Salt and pepper to taste
  • - 4 hamburger buns
  • - 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in beef broth, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook until the mixture has thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the broiler. Spoon the beef mixture onto the hamburger buns and top each with shredded provolone cheese.
  • Place under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.
