Banana Split Ingredients

- Banana: This dish is ideal for using up overripe bananas. The more ripe, the better!
- Cinnamon: Sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the banana.
- Greek Yogurt: Fage or Stonyfield Greek yogurt is my favorite, but any sort would do. You may simply use vanilla yogurt for the syrup.
- Dairy Free: Use your favorite dairy-free yogurt, such as coconut or almond.
- Maple Syrup: Swap maple syrup with honey or agave nectar.
- Pecans: Chop two teaspoons of pecans. If you are allergic to walnuts or almonds, you can substitute them or leave them out.
How to Make a Breakfast Banana Split
- Slice a ripe banana lengthwise, three-quarters of the way through, and sprinkle with cinnamon. Air fried the banana for 5–6 minutes at 400°F, or until tender.
- While the banana is cooking, add a spoonful of syrup with the yogurt.
- Toppings for a Banana Split: When the banana is done, top it with yogurt, cinnamon, nuts, and the leftover syrup.
Variations:
- Drizzle chocolate syrup, almond butter, or peanut butter over the banana.
- Fresh berries, pomegranate seeds, raisins, dried cranberries, or crushed-up freeze-dried strawberries are all good options for fruit.
- Chocolate chips, granola, coconut chips, or coconut flakes can be sprinkled on top of your banana split.
- Spices: Try a touch of nutmeg or cardamom, or replace cinnamon with pumpkin pie spice.
- Classic Banana Split: For dessert, top it with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and a cherry.
No Air Fryer? No Problem!
