Homemade Apple Cinnamon Swirl Loaf

A tasty and aromatic handmade bread packed with the tastes of fresh apples and cinnamon, blended perfectly. Ideal for breakfast, brunch, or as a satisfying snack.

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2/3 cup white sugar

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup milk

2 apples, peeled and chopped (any kind)

Old-fashioned glaze:

1/2 cup of powdered sugar

2 tablespoons of milk

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175° C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

In a mixing dish, combine the cinnamon and brown sugar. Set aside.

In another dish, combine the white sugar and butter and mix until smooth and creamy.

Beat in one egg at a time, then whisk in the vanilla essence.

Combine flour and baking powder, then add to the creamed mixture and combine thoroughly. Finally, whisk in the milk until the batter is smooth.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Cover with half of the apples, then half of the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Pour the remaining batter over the apple layer, then top with the remaining apples and the brown sugar/cinnamon combination.

Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean.

Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing and cooling fully on a wire rack.

Make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk; sprinkle over the cooled bread.

NOTES

For the greatest results, choose firm, somewhat sour apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Adjust the cinnamon sugar mixture to your liking. Allow the bread to completely cool before slicing to avoid crumbling.
